HB-01 HiBand Preamp
The HB-01 HiBand Preamp is a single-channel, high-bandwidth, low-noise charge amplifier for single- or multi-element non-contact capacitance probe. The HB-01 provides low-noise dc bias for probe. The Preamp can operate with long cables to probe (up to 30 feet max recommended). The preamp output has 50-ohm impedance for driving long coaxial cables to data acquisition system (up to 1000 feet or more). When combined with Aerogage proprietary signal processing and Vibration Monitor System, the HB-01 is capable of high-accuracy measurement of tip clearance of individual blades on rotating turbine engines. HB-08 Multi-Channel HiBand Preamp
The HB-08 HiBand Preamp provides up to eight HB-01 HiBand Preamps mounted in a single 19-inch chassis. The unit provides eight input BNC connectors on front panel for coaxial cables to probes and eight output BNC connectors on front panel. Coaxial cables are used for internal connection of HB-01 HiBand Preamp outputs to front panel BNC connectors. The unit is powered by 110 volt ac power and provides an internally-wired power supply for all preamps. A 19-inch rack mount is optional.
Differential Amplifier
The DA-01 Differential Amplifier is a single channel, differential line receiver and differentiator. The DA-01 provides a non-inverting amplifier followed by inverting differentiator. The differential line receiver eliminates common-mode problems associated with differing ground potentials between preamp and data acquisition system. A BNC input connector is provided for the coaxial cable from an HB-01 HiBand Preamp. BNC output connectors are provided for the amplifier and differentiator outputs. A 9-pin D connector us used for power. The amplifier provides two poles at 1 MHz to reduce high frequency noise. CP-01 Capacitance Preamp
The Model CP-01 Capacitance Preamp is a small (3.75 in x 1.5 in x 1.5 in) box with internal electronics that measures the capacitance of a non-contact probe. The probe is installed in the front panel of the unit. One connector on the rear of the box is used to supply power (+/- 15 volts) to the unit. A second connector on the rear of the box provides an output signal, which the user can connect to a digital voltmeter or data acquisition system. The output signal is calibrated to 1 volt per pico Farad. Capacitance measurements stable to better than 0.0001 pico Farads = 0.1 fempto Farads = 100 atto Farads can be typically achieved with the CP-01. In thermally stable environments, measurements can be made to better than 0.00001 pico Farads = 0.01 fempto Farads = 10 atto Farads. Note that the digital voltmeter or data acquisition system must be able to resolve 0.1 mV or 0.01 mV in order to achieve these results.
The CP-01 and a target, such as a turbine engine blade, can be mounted on an XYZ positioning table. By accurately positioning the target in front of the probe, the capacitance vs target position can be determined.
